11th Annual Triunfo Awards Gala celebrated on March 7th, 2008

The Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Palm Beach County held its Annual Triunfo Awards Gala in the Cohen Pavilion at the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach.

During the evening your Chamber recognized the following outstanding members and organizations for their achievement and contribution to our community in the following categories:

• Non-Profit Organization of the year awarded to Real Estate Education & Community Housing (REACH)
• Corporate Recipient of the year awarded to Florida Power and Light, Co
• Small Business Entrepreneur of the year awarded to Car Clinic
• Educational/Government of the year awarded to South Florida Water Management 

We congratulate all the organizations for making our community a better place to live.

With the generous contribution of individuals and enterprises we were able to raise $17,000.00 towards scholarships to outstanding graduating High School Seniors from our community.  These were selected from nearly forty nominations submitted. 

In alphabetical order the recipients were: 

Stephanie Jimenez - Forest Hill High School - $4,000.00 Scholarship donated by: La Palma, National City Bank, Trelles Law, P.A., and the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce

Andrea Juliana Forero – West Boca Raton High School - $4,000.00 Scholarship donated by: Florida Power & Light Co., Harris & Deborah Weinstein, Ronald & Brenda Nocera, and Mission Capital Advisors

Jose Rodrigo Garcia – Wellington High School - $2,000 Scholarship – Donated by: El Bodegon and Cocuy, Burns & Co. P.A.

Joycelin Lopez – Forest Hill High School- $2,000 Scholarship – Donated by: Progressive Employment Services and H&R Block

Velia Giovanna Arizpe – Palm Beach Lakes Central High School- $1,000 Scholarship – Donated by: Azteca America, Chanel 48

Vanessa Valdivia – Lake Worth High School- $1,000 Scholarship – Donated by: LaBovick & LaBovick

Christopher Humberto Bahls Mariles – AW Dreyfoos School of the Arts -  $1,000 Scholarship – Donated by: deGuardiola

Nayansi Placensia – Boca Raton High School- $1,000 Scholarship – Donated by: Florida Crystals - On a special note – The Real Estate Education & Community Housing (REACH) was so moved by this bright student that they matched her Scholarship and she will receive an extra $1,000 towards her education.

	The Chamber also extends our gratitude to Liz Quirantes for doing such a wonderful job as Mistress of Ceremonies.
