You’ve just married the man of yours dreams and you’re wondering where to go on your honeymoon? You want luxury, sun, white sands and crystal clear water, but where are the best places to go on your honeymoon?

Bahamas – There are plenty of secluded places in the Bahamas where you can spend a week and get away from it all. Although it has gained more tourists than a couple of years ago, it’s still the number one hot spot for newly weds.

Barbados – The perfect place to spend the week lying on a beach. The jaw dropping scenery and great food makes Barbados the ultimate in luxury.

Mauritius – What more can I say then absolute bliss! A great place to spend time with loved ones.

St Lucia – One of the most romantic places in the world. Sunbath in the Caribbean sun whilst relaxing by coconut trees.

Sardinia – A great place to get away from the hustle and bustle with some of the best coast lines in the Med.

Reykjavik – Chill out with a cold Vodka in the day then snuggle up by a roaring fire at night. If you’re up for it, try taking a glacier trek!

Paris – Ah, gay Pari! Nothing can be more romantic can it? Walk hand in hand by the river seine or take a trip up to the top of the Eiffel Tower and take in the amazing views.

Venice – Make sure you time your trip to Venice right, the mass of tourists may take the romantic edge off!

Seychelles – Take a walk on the talcum power like sands then take a dip in the nice warm ocean for a swim with the tropical fish. A gorgeous place that will make you wish you never have to leave.

New York – Plenty of stuff to do for the newly weds, just make sure that your holiday of a life time, doesn’t turn into a shopping holiday from hell.

In my last post I wrote about how more and more people are deciding to stay in the UK rather than jet set off to the other countries of the world. This kind of holiday has now been labelled a ’staycation’.

Staying at home seems to be the way forward, not only do you save a load of money but you also have your own bed to go back to each night, what can be better than that?!

Many people have been attending festivals recently, so why not air out your tent and go camping. I’m not a massive fan myself to be honest, the thought of being without a proper shower and access to hair straighteners sounds hideous. Also the terrible memories from Brownies involving a tent hook scars me for life. Camping can be enjoyable though, kicking back with your mates, beer in one hand, toasted marshmallow in the other!

I would say that one of the best places to erect your tent is in the Lake District near Lake Windermere. With the great views and the sound of water lapping against the shore, you can’t beat it!

If you have decided to dig your tent out of the loft, then happy camping!

Staying in the UK can be just as fun as travelling abroad although most the time, without the good weather. You can fill your days with activities and have the comfort of knowing your not too far from home.

Stately homes, museums, theme parks and zoo’s are a plenty in the UK and your day can be jam packed full with fun for all the family.

Here are just a few ideas of how you can spend your days:

Alton Towers theme park

Buckingham Palace

Chester Zoo

Westminster Abbey

Do you feel like you have just been visiting the same places for years? Spain one year, France the next? Staying in the same hotels and eating the same buffet breakfasts each morning? Well why not spread your wings and head to Hungary?

Take a trip to central Europe where you will be greeted with mountains, rivers, volcanic pools and vineyards. Although there is a lack of coastline, don’t let this put you off, you wont have time to sit down with all that Hungary offers you.

If you fancy relaxing at an idyllic retreat, why not head to Lake Balaton. If kicking back with a cocktail is what you fancy then vineyards will certainly be your cup of tea, pick some grapes and produce your own bottles of wine. If, like me you want to be pampered whilst you’re away then take a trip to a thermal spa.

If you are planning to visit Hungary for just a couple of days then head to the capital, Budapest. A city trip with a mixture of traditional and modern Hungary.

Whatever you decide to do, you will not be left disappointed by Hungary.

Fancy brushing shoulders with Versace clad, linen trouser wearing footballers wives or spending a day on a millionaires yacht? Well Marbella is the place you need to go. Although Marbella has lots of money, you don’t need to be rolling in it to soak up the atmosphere that is offers.

With the hotels in marbella, you pay for what you get and unfortunately most of them come with a pretty hefty price tag. The food and drink is also pretty pricey with a vodka and coke setting you back 12 euros.

If you fancy a night of drinking, dancing and cavorting then head to Puerto Banus. Known as the Spanish St Tropez, Banus is full of the beautiful rich and famous and is a keen hot spot for the likes of Katie Price and Cheryl Cole.

Away from all the hustle and bustle you have the golden sands and scantily clad women downing champagne by the gallon, topping up their tans.

Marbella is great for a weekend away with your mates or a romantic break with the other half, just remember to take lots (and lots) of money!

If you haven’t already been to Ibiza, then make sure you book your tickets and get a flight out there pronto! Ibiza is definitely the place to be for both the young and the old. Many people think of Ibiza as a haven for young, single teenagers who spend all day and night drinking and causing mayhem. I’m not going to lie, in some parts of the island this is the case but there are parts which are away from the hustle and bustle and are what Ibiza is all about.

If you are looking to dance the night away, then San Antonio is the place to go. Make sure you visit legendary clubs such as Amnesia and Pacha and once you are done partying, rest your head at the Ibiza Rocks Hotel.

If you are looking to relax and get away from it all, then make sure that you check out the dazzling blue sea and soft white sands.

For only a 2 hour flight away, Ibiza is a must see destination.

One of my favourite places to visit is Turkey. If you are looking for a last minute holiday or somewhere to take the kids for a 2 week break, Turkey will suit you. The gorgeous Mediterranean getaway boasts amazing beaches and soaring temperatures, and with endless sea activities, your holiday will definitely be jam packed full.

The food in Turkey has a slight Greek twist with Meze’s being the order of the day and the spices on offer are definitely worth a taste.

Bodrum, Marmaris, Dalaman and Antayla are the most popular places in Turkey and are filled with little cafes, shops and bars.

A couple of years ago, I visited a small part of Turkey called Kalkan. Situated on the Lycian coast, Kalkan has got to be one of the nicest places I have been. This was partly down to the luxurious Kalkan Regency Hotel we stayed at, a family run establishment with breathtaking views and only a handful of rooms, perfect!

As of yet, Kalkan has not been taken over by tourists and is definitely a place to unwind and get away from it all. Take a stroll into the town where you can pretty much purchase anything from carpets to shoes, and make sure you try the Apple Tea and Turkish Delight.

If you have been to Turkey before, let me know where and if you enjoyed it!

Today, I am continuing on from my last post on City Breaks.

If you are thinking of travelling to Rome, then make sure you take a good pair of trainers and a charger for your camera, the sites to see are spectacular. Not only do you have the great sites including the Colosseum’s and the Catacombes you also have some of the tastiest Italian delicacies to try. If you have enough energy left, make sure you take an early night so your ready to go and take a trip to the Vatican city.

Prague is another great city to visit, especially in the Winter when the cobbled streets are covered in snow and Christmas markets are buzzing. If your interested in anything from Art to Music, Prague will have something for you. Make sure you start off at the Old Town Square, you certainly will not be disappointed!

Last but not least we have the amazing city of Barcelona. Everyone who I have known that has visited Barcelona has come back wishing they could have stayed there an extra few days and its clear to see why this city is so popular. Barcelona is a great place for tiny boutique hotels, tucked away from the bustling high life of Les Ramblas. You can take a look round the city by scooter, bus or foot, just remember to take your camera so you can capture the beauty of the city.

Are you thinking of going on a City break? With destinations such as Paris, Rome, Barcelona and Prague I’m not surprised! Alot of people think that booking a trip to the city means spending lots of money but this is not the case. Whether you are looking for a boutique hotel, 5 star luxury or simply just a place to rest your head for the night there are hotels that will suit your budget.

In my opinion, the top 5 city destinations are:

Paris

Bruges

Rome

Prague

Barcelona

Paris, the city of love. There is something wrong with you if you dont fall instantly in love with this place. With the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame and Sacre-Coeur, its clear to see why Paris makes it to number one on my list. You can start your day off with a warm croissant and a black coffee, spend your day visiting the sites or shopping in Chanel or Herve Leger and finish off with a selection of mouth watering food from the local Charcuterie.

Bruges, a great place for all your chocolate and beer lovers. If your interested in history, then visiting Bruges is ideal and the wonderfully preserved medieval city will leave you open mouthed. There are numerous museums, bustling market squares and it will definitely be a fun-filled weekend for all.

My next post will cover Rome, Prague and Barcelona, so come back tomorrow to find out more!!
